2015 was the biggest year ever for deals and acquisitions [Video]
There were a lot of moving parts for corporations in 2015. According to The Street, this year was the biggest ever for mergers and acquisitions. Expect this year to close out with a total deal value of $4.3 trillion. The previous record was $4.2 trillion, set in 2007.
Some of the biggest deals of the year include Visa’s $23 billion offer for Visa Europe, Avago Tech’s purchase of Broadcom for $31 billion and Charter Communication’s enormous acquisition of Time Warner Cable for nearly $80 billion.
Companies moved quicker than ever before to get deals done because of the threat of increased interest rates by the Federal Reserve Bank later in the year.
