Avoid IP issues during a merger: Part 2 [Video]

Unfortunately, many organizations make costly mistakes regarding intellectual properties during a merger or an acquisition. In the last video, we discussed two of the four W’s organizations should answer about their target company’s IP assets before pursuing an M&A deal. This last video will focus on the when and where of IP asset evaluation.

When the IP assets may expire is important, along with all information regarding how companies will pursue government renewals and how much it will cost when the time comes.

Meanwhile, knowing where IP assets are legally registered or recognized is invaluable for buyers, especially when dealing with international operations. If there are any problems or gaps in industry coverage, these issues should be disclosed early on in the M&A process.
