Beanstock gains mobile publishing capabilities with Onswipe acquisition

Mobile has become an increasingly popular way for people to access online content. From reading the news to shopping, listening to music, talking on the phone and more, people are using mobile devices to consume a great deal of content. This trend creates a need for businesses to be able to make their websites easy to read when viewed on a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

This capability is particularly relevant to the publishing industry. It was announced recently that Beanstock Media, an ad technology company, has acquired Onswipe, according to Tech Crunch. With the addition of Onswipe, Beanstock will be able to improve its capabilities and deliver a better service.

"We were both going in the same direction from different sides—Onswipe from the content supply side, Beanstock from the ad technology side," Onswipe's founder and Chief Marketing officer Jason Baptiste told Tech Crunch. "This lets us get to where we want to be as a business quicker."

With Onswipe's service, publishers are able to optimize their websites so they can be read on mobile devices. With the increase of people using mobile devices, the need for sites that are easily readable using these types of technologies is great.

According to Onswipe's website, by making it easier for publishers to allow users to access content through mobile, they have the chance to become more profitable. The company says that its technology can lead to increased user engagement, and monetization. Gaining a technology like this makes sense as an acquisition strategy for Beanstock because it will help the company offer more to its publishing customers.
