Handling IT during an acquisition: Part 1 [Video]

While mergers and acquisitions are a necessary part of corporate culture, dealing with IT can be challenging. While there are hundreds of factors that come into play regarding IT during M&A activity, there are usually two sides to handling IT during an acquisition: the system and the people. This video will focus on the first issue.

The first question that decision-makers must ask is whether or not to integrate. If the two companies use competing systems, it might be wise to choose one and then retrain those from the acquired company on the new system.

Meanwhile, if the two systems are complementary or work together, organizations may decide to promote a coexistent IT culture rather than a divisive one.
