We at MergerTech wish you a very Happy Holiday season and a healthy and prosperous New Year. 2010 was an extremely exciting year for us. We made significant investments in our brand, infrastructure, people, and relationships with buyers all of which delivered fabulous results for our clients. We remained and continue to remain firmly committed to helping our clients convert their work into wealth through our mission: enabling small and medium technology companies to realize the value of their business by leveraging our deep domain expertise and global knowledge of buyers.
Exciting highlights of 2010:
New Brand: In March, we changed the name of the company from M&A Forum to MergerTech in order to better reflect our singular focus on technology mergers and acquisitions. As part of the name change, we launched a new website, a new blog that is constantly updated with relevant posts, and new seminars, online videos, and white papers all aimed at helping educate our clients and potential clients about how to best convert their work into wealth.
Investment in Infrastructure and Resources: In 2009, we brought in an all-new executive management team with the hire of a new CEO and President and made global investments by hiring bankers in India and China. In 2010, we continue to invest in the company by bringing in two Executive Vice Presidents (Brady Flaherty and Prashant Dubey), and several managing Directors (all with deep technology M&A expertise), analysts, and back office staff; you can view their profiles at http://www.mergertech.com/team. We make these investments to deliver on our three commitments: fast introductions to buyers, high probability of closing, and the best possible valuations for our clients.
New Services: In 2009, we added new services such as Valuation Reports and Capital Raises and in 2010, we continued to add services to assist our clients. The most important addition to our services was our investment in a team of bankers to support the rapid pace of transactions and abundance of investment capital in the legal, compliance, and information management sector. We also brought on industry veteran Prashant Dubey to lead this team.
Exclusive Contract with the World’s Largest Enterprise Technology Distributor: 2010 saw MergerTech sign an exclusive contract with Avnet, the world’s largest enterprise technology distributor. This contract, a clear recognition of our leading expertise in this space, enables MergerTech to provide a full range of advisory services to Avnet’s partners including helping them make acquisitions, raise capital, and sell their businesses. Our keen focus, deep expertise, and fidelity to our mission allowed us to provide our services to a record number of clients in 2010. The number of clients we served as well as the average value of each deal we closed were up over 200% from 2009 leading to an increase of over 500% in total deal value. We are ending the year with over 10 pending deals that will close early in 2011 and are thus poised to continue our momentum through the New Year.
